The University of Sydney (informally Sydney University, Sydney Uni  USyd, or Sydney) is an Australian public research university in Sydney,  Australia Founded in 1850, it is Australia's first university and is regarded as one of the country's leading universities. It is particularly strong in the fields of Law, Education, Medicine, Accounting and Finance: the 2016 QS World University Rankings by Subject ranked The University of Sydney to be 11th in Law, 16th in Education, 17th in Medicine and 18th in Accounting and Finance globally.

Location & Transportation

By bus - cross routes
Route 370 runs between Coogee and Leichhardt. Alight on City Rd for Sydney University.
Route 352 runs between Bondi Junction and Marrickville. Alight on City Rd for Sydney University.
Catch a train to Redfern train station, and then take a 10-minute walk (mugging WARNING) to the main campus. Free buses  run to and from Fisher Library and Redfern station in the evening during semester - not recommended after dark.
